Committee Description:

Our LGBT+ Advocacy Committee plays a critical role in promoting the rights, visibility, and well-being of LGBT+ individuals. This committee typically works within our organization as well as with others to advance social justice, equity, and inclusion for the LGBT+ populations we serve.

The committee is dedicated to advancing the rights, inclusion, and well-being of LGBTQ+ individuals within our community and beyond. The committee advocates for policies, practices, and programs that foster justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI) while addressing systemic barriers faced by LGBT+ populations.​ The Advocacy Committee collaborates closely within Centre LGBT+ and the broader community to ensure that LGBT+ perspectives are considered and prioritized in all efforts, driving systemic change and creating inclusive spaces for all.

EVENTS COMMITTEE

Committee Description:

Our Events Committee is responsible for coordinating the planning, organizing, and executing of the events that we hold in support of the LGBT+ community we serve. This fosters a sense of belonging, visibility, and empowerment. The committee works to create inclusive and welcoming spaces where LGBT+ individuals and allies can connect, celebrate, and build community.

The committee is dedicated to organizing events that celebrate diversity, foster community, and promote awareness of LGBT+ issues. The committee ensures that events reflect the values of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI), and provides opportunities for education, social engagement, and advocacy. Through these efforts, the committee aims to create spaces where all members of the LGBT+ community feel supported, empowered, and valued.

PRIDE COMMITTEE

Committee Description:

The committee is responsible for organizing in a collaborative manner the State College Pride event each June as well as the activities that celebrate the diversity, resilience, and achievements of the LGBT+ community throughout Pride month. The committee strives to create an inclusive event where LGBT+ individuals and allies can come together to honor the history and progress of the community while advocating for continued equality and justice. Pride is designed to promote visibility, awareness, and inclusivity, reflecting our organization’s commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI) principles.

June is Pride month which means we have events all month long you can be involved in.

Committee Description:

The  PR & Marketing Committee is responsible for shaping and promoting the public image of Centre LGBT+ including initiatives, events, and causes. This committee plays a vital role in communicating our organization’s mission, values, and work to the community, stakeholders, and broader audiences. By strategically managing outreach and public relations efforts, the committee helps to elevate the visibility of LGBT+ issues and foster broader community engagement.

The committee is dedicated to enhancing the visibility, reach, and impact of our organization’s initiatives and events by developing and executing strategic communications, public relations, and marketing campaigns. The committee ensures that all messaging reflects the values of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI), while promoting a positive and inclusive image of the organization and the LGBT+ community. Through targeted outreach, media relations, and branding efforts, the committee works to increase awareness and engagement with our organization's programs, events, and advocacy work.
